I named this blog McCoy's Melodic Medley for several reasons but mainly because we a a family that has a rhythmic groove of many chords, keys, and scales that combine to make a melee or composition, that few understand, but is just right for us.
The title of this post is Something old, Something new, well let's address this, shall we? First, Something old: We are still a family that stands firm on our faith in God and that he is the head of our house. God has been so inspirational in this (revelation) in my life. I have been studying and meditating on the Gospel and REALLY finding out what God requires of me. I may not always get it exact, but I'm a work in progress!
Something new: A big change in the McCoy house is that the girls are now attending public school. As many of you know, last year I took on the important job of homeschooling. I truly enjoyed teaching my children, learning new things myself, and the time that I got to spend with my girls. Initially I had only planned to look into putting Kennedy in public school but that plan quickly changed with Trinity's eager notions to return to school as well. I talked in great length with the director of a new charter school in our area and got really good vibes from her. I went on to tour the school, listen to the director's vision, and prayed to God for direction. In the end I was at peace with putting both of the girls in this charter school. We are now ending week two and I must say, it is going really, really, well. The girls have made many new friends and seem to be thriving academically. Trinity is in Fifth grade this year and has one of the most enthusiastic, optimistic, encouraging teachers I have ever met. I know that it was God's plan for Trinity to have Mr. P (as he is affectionately known by the kids) in her corner. Kennedy is in the first grade and her teacher is a young, caring, don't take no mess, nurturing woman. Kennedy comes home everyday with nothing but loving things to say about Ms. Hill.
For the sake of not writing a novel I'll leave more to post later. My affirmation today is to speak life, health and prosperity. I don't know why God continues to have favor on my life but I am so blessed that his mercy endures. Be easy guys!

I'm sure it makes it a lot easier since they wanted to go to public school. Glad they are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Visions of Purpose. It's going pretty well so far, however I have encountered a few situations that wouldn't have happened if they were home with me. I'll continue to pray and follow God's lead.
